When people first meet online or in personal life, they begin to have a very ordinary kind of friendship. But when they begin to understand each other, when they get close to each other, that is when they discover that they are suddenly eager to know each other even better. Friends are those who can understand that we are not perfect and that we make mistakes and that he or she is ready to forgive. They will listen to your problems, and give advice when you can't find it in your own heart even when the truth may not be what you want to hear.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting our caring community of friends. You are invited to join and become part of our friendly group of worldwide boomers & seniors.

If anyone believes in the power of prayer, please pray for me. I would really appreciate it as I am going through such trying times with my health. I have an upcoming surgery scheduled very soon and I dread it as it has been tried twice before and failed. It is an incisional hernia from my bowel cancer operation three years ago. The incision burst open and a hernia appeared and in the last year I have suffered badly as it strangulated twice. I also have blood clots on the lungs as I had a pulmonary embolism so that is always a concern when you have surgery.

Thanks for your prayers. :)

Christine, I will say a special prayer for you tomorrow in church. I know that you have suffered over the years and I hope that this upcoming operation helps you.

Is bowel cancer the same as colon cancer? Or something altogether different?

Lee, I believe bowel and colon are the same thing. I hear different people call it by both names, so I am sure they are one in the same.

Thanks for the prayer, I will appreciate that. I feel good when I know people are praying for me.

Well I just looked it up to satisfy the curiosity I have had about it for three years, (took me long enough).

http://coloncancer.about.com/od/glossaries/g/Bowel_Cancer.htm

Bowel/colon/intestines are all the same thing and we have large and small.

I have lost just over a third of my large bowel and a small amount of my small intestines/bowel/colon.
